Ray Dohnt presents a special guest lecture on Negative Doubles.
Negative doubles are an essential part of a 5 card major system and one of the most important conventions. Their purpose is to allow a partnership to find a 4-4 major fit after an opponent has bid over your partner.
It is one of the most frequently used techniques by bridge players as it allows you to tell your partner what you have without increasing your bidding level.
Learn to differentiate between take out doubles, negative doubles and penalty doubles. Plus, card play to reinforce what you have learnt.
Topics covered:
- When to use negative doubles.
- How to show:
- both majors
- one major, but not the other
- both minors
- five spades or only four spades
- many levels from 6+ to 18+ HCP
This is an essential session for all players who have not yet mastered this convention. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL.
