- Bequests
What is a bequest?
A bequest is a property or a sum of money committed to an organisation and donated upon the donor’s death.A bequest can take a variety of forms. Deciding which way you feel is the fairest method of dividing your estate will determine its format.
How to make a bequest?
If you are considering leaving a bequest to SA Bridge you should seek the advice of a solicitor who handles wills. It is also recommended that you consult a financial or tax advisor.
If you already have a will but would like to leave a gift to SA Bridge you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing will. This is called a codicil. We do suggest you see a solicitor if this is your intention.
If you do not have a will at the moment, you can simply include a bequest when you write a new will. Whatever your circumstances, we would advise you to see a solicitor to ensure your wishes are followed.
With your permission, donations and bequests can be listed on our Club’s website in perpetuity.
