Members’ Affiliations
SA Bridge Assoc. Unley is the headquarters for all SA Bridge Assoc. members and the key point of reference for all club activities.
SA BRIDGE FEDERATION (SABF) was established in 2000, is the peak administrative body for Contract Bridge in South Australia. Its primary purpose is to promotion of bridge in South Australia, and does this by supporting the affiliated clubs through advertising, teaching, training of directors and management of all state events.
AUSTRALIAN BRIDGE FOUNDATION (ABF) is Australia’s National Bridge body. One of its main functions is to manage Australia’s National Bridge’s Ranking System of individuals Masterpoints holdings.
Masterpoints are won by players over a lifetime, and used to rank players nationally. There are 21 ranked levels that range from Graduate Master to Diamond Grand Master. Master rankings are used for determining the seeding and the nature of tournaments in which one can play.
Types of Masterpoints Allocated:
- Green masterpoints – from regular club sessions
- Red masterpoints – from specific club events, plus regional and national competitions
- Gold masterpoints – from National competitions plus specific club events
