90th Anniversary Gala October 2023
The South Australian Bridge Association was formed in 1933 with a small group of members, and it moved around to several different venues in the city until, in 1971, our current premises was bought.
The annex was built in the late 70s, and the lounge and bar area in the front was added in the 90s.
We had a grand celebration to commemorate 90 years of bridge and friendship with a grand gala on Saturday 28th October.
Red masterpoints bridge was followed by a bar social and a grand dinner.
Our life members were honoured with a special table, and we had more than 100 people who took part. Speakers included Linda Alexander, Chris Lorimer, Josh Tomlin and Mike Doecke who shared very special memories of their bridge journeys and of the club back in the old days. The silent auctions were a success, with some pretty competitive bids for players, experiences, wine and gifts. We raised more than $4000 thanks to the generosity of our members.
